In Germany there are over 150 scenic routes, which are actually dedicated to cultural or scenic themes. Why, then, not declare personal preferences or interests, such as beer, wine, gemstones or the like to be the focus of a holiday route?


For example whoever likes to make holidays in the countryside, far away from everyday hustle and bustle and mass tourism, certainly finds on the „Deutschen Bauernstraße" the appropriate one or other LandSelection holiday farm, for relaxation and recreation. The „Deutsche Bauernstraße“ has a total length of approximately 1,600 kilometres and runs through nine very different regions.

Ahr-Rotweinstraße

The Ahr-Rotweinstraße leads from Sinzig through Bad Neuenahr - up to Altenahr and vice versa. On its way, the route crosses eleven wine communities. From each of these wine-growing places you have access to the Ahr-Rotweinwanderweg, a hiking trail that takes visitors of the Weinstraße even closer to the vineyards. 

Alte Salzstraße

The Duchy of Lauenburg informs about the old Salzstraße between Lüneburg and Lübeck and provides first impressions of the route and tips for bicycle tours. 

Aischgründer Bierstraße

The Aischgründer Bierstraße runs from the central Franconian district of Neustadt to Bad Aisch Windsheim and deals with the topics of beer and brewing. 

Badische Spargelstraße

During asparagus season, you can purchase fresh asparagus directly from the farmers in Schwetzingen and Scherzheim. During this time there are many small asparagus festivals on this route. 

Badische Weinstraße

The Badische Weinstraße runs over 160 kilometres from Baden-Baden to Weil am Rhein and in a loop around the Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg. It is known for its many village inns and regional specialties like asparagus and bacon, it is also lovingly called "Baden’s gourmet street“.

Bocksbeutelstraße

The "Mittelfränkische Bocksbeutelstraße" runs through the heart of Franconia, with a total of almost 50 km long circular route, halfway between Nuremberg and Wuerzburg through the nature reserves Steigerwald and Frankenhöhe.

Burgenstraße

Along the about 1000 kilometres the travellers explore one of the most beautiful sceneries in Europe, filled with magnificent palaces and enchanted castles. From Mannheim along the Neckar River through the Odenwald, the Hohenlohe plain, the Franconian heights of the northern part of the Franconian Switzerland and into the heart of the golden city of Prague.

Deutsche Alleenstraße

The Deutsche Alleenstraße runs through a total of eight states between the island of Ruegen and the Lake Constance. You will also see beautiful landscapes, the most beautiful sights on the left and right of the route, and above all, beautiful avenues.

Deutsche Alpenstraße

Over 450 kilometres from Lindau on Lake Constance to Berchtesgaden. Nestled in the magnificent mountain scenery of the Bavarian Alps rustic farming villages alternate with historic towns. 

Deutsche Bauernstraße

All German LandSelection farms are located close to the Deutsche Bauernstraße. These wind, with a total length of about 1600 km from north to south and back again. It takes you through ten regions, which differ greatly in their natural and cultural structure. They share the wealth of rural charm, which should be (re) discovered - far away from mass tourism and holiday bustle. And which region is the most delightful, everyone has to find out for him or herself.

Deutsche Edelsteinstraße

The approximately 180-kilometer hiking trail connects Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate and is dominated by five sections of varying landscape. 

Deutsche Fachwerkstraße

It runs from the Elbe River to the Black Forest through more than 100 half-timbered towns.  

Deutsche Fehnroute

Leads cyclists through marshes whose towns carry in their names in part up to this day the suffix „fehn“- Dutch for moor –. Visitors can discover the typical moor landscapes. 

Deutsche Fußballroute

The Deutsche Fußballroute NRW will in future lead on 550 kilometres to places of interest around the most wonderful thing in the world. The new tourist road connects 15 cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, whose clubs play or have played in the first soccer league. 

Deutsche Limesstraße

Accompanies the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes from the Rhine to the Danube, and informs about the towns and villages along the route, excavations and museums and provides information and directions for the Limes cycle trail. 

Deutsche Märchenstraße

About 600 km from Hanau to Bremen, it joins together the life stages of the Brothers Grimm and the places and landscapes that are home to their tales into a fabulous itinerary. 

Deutsche Spielzeugstraße

The Deutsche Spielzeugstraße runs approximately 300 kilometres through Thuringia and Franconia. It begins in Waltershausen goes from Sonneberg to Neustadt near Coburg to Franconia and goes up to Zirndorf near Nuremberg.

Deutsche Weinstraße

The Deutsche Weinstraße begins in Bockenheim near Worms, and from there it runs along a stretch of about 80 kilometres across the Palatinate wine region before being ending at the Deutschen Weintor in Schweigen at the border to France. 

Deutsche Sielroute

Along the Sielroute dairy products are offered in the "Melkhus" (farms, which provide dining guests with proprietary products). The typical Friesian farms that are predominantly dairy farming and horse breeding farms are particularly popular with families with children.  

Deutsche Tonstraße

Starting point is the city Velten with its oven and ceramics museum. On the 215-km stretch in the north of Brandenburg are many remarkable sights to discover that have something to do with "clay" includes among other sights idyllic lakes, some of which arose from clay pits.

Ferienstraße Bergstraße

Leads you from Darmstadt through Heidelberg to Wiesloch. Many attractions such as historic marketplaces, half-timbered houses, castles and a rich cultural life make the Bergstraße worth a visit. 

Friedensroute

The "Friedensroute" will be honoured as the "bike route in 2008 in North Rhine-Westphalia". The cycle trail that follows the routes of mounted postal couriers between Munster and Osnabruck in the negotiations over the end of the Thirty Years War is the fourth cycle route in North Rhine-Westphalia, receiving the coveted award. 

Die Glasstraße

Over 250 km across the Upper Palatinate - and the Bavarian Forest, you will learn about the German glass empire. Along the Glasstraße a large number of small-scale or artistically oriented glass companies can be found, many of which offer their visitors the opportunity to watch the individual manufacture of certain glass products. 

Goldene Straße

The old trade route is a popular destination for artistic excursions. It leads through Weiden and Baernau from Nuremberg to Prague. 

Grumbeere and Gemüsestraße

The 145-mile route runs through the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis to Germersheim informs on the topic of shopping in the growers own farm shops from the vegetable paradise of the Republic. 

KäseRoute NRW

With the KäseRoute the cheese dairy farms have joined forces to raise awareness of cheese from North Rhine-Westphalia. With its scenic location in attractive regions of NRW, the cheese route offers a direct connection to tourism. It will help to promote local agricultural products and to sustain the related cultural landscape.

Käsestraße Schleswig Holstein

In the middle of the maritime landscape the Käsestraße joins on a circuit of about 500 kilometres, the cheese producing farms between the North and Baltic Sea, the Elbe and the Danish border. In addition to the cheese factories are many other interesting sights. 

Lehm- und Backsteinstraße

The Lehm- u. Backsteinstraße is located in the southwest of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. One finds numerous interesting brick buildings and can for example visit, an old brickworks from the turn of the century, and experience how a brick is made out of loam and clay. 

Liebliches Taubertal

The lovely Taubertal near Rothenburg o.d.T. is ideal for family cycling tours. Declining slightly it runs through vineyards, castle ruins and medieval villages. 

Loreley-Burgenstraße

The route leads from Lahnstein to Rudesheim. Breathtaking viewing points, hiking on the well-marked Rhine wine trail from Kamp-Bornhofen up to Sauerthal. 

Mosel-Saar-Ruwer-Weinstraßen

Hardly any other wine region in Germany seems to be as impressive as the wine region Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. On the Mosel, there is a network of various wine routes. One of them follows the footsteps of the Romans, another leads up to the Rhine, while another runs along the Ruwer.

Naheweinstraße

The 110 km long Naheweinstraße runs from Bad Sobernheim to Bingen. The route leads through the wine country of the Nahe, the spa towns of Bad Kreuznach, Bad Sobernheim and Bad Münster on Stein. Along the way, ostrich farms, wineries and vineyards invite you to rest. 

Niedersächsische Milchstraße

The Niedersächsische Milchstraße is located in the Alten Land on the river Elbe between Hamburg and Bremen. 13 dairy farms invite you to visit. "The Niedersachsische Milchstraße" with 4-cycling tours invites to a reconnaissance trip around dairy. The farmers open their farm gates and show how they produce milk and how the milk reaches the consumer. The tours lead through the joint communities Himmelpforten and Oldendorf, the community of Drochtersen and the town Stade. In addition, interesting churches, mills and museums along the way are worth the stopover.

Niedersächsische Mühlenstraße

The Lower Mühlenstraße connects 75 mills. Thus as diverse as the scenery, so varied are the mills and their stories. 

Niedersächsische Spargelstraße

The Niedersächsische Spargelstraße links on some 750 km the main asparagus growing regions of Lower Saxony. 

Porzellanstraße

The route runs from Bamberg through Coburg, Hof, Selb and Weiden to Bayreuth and draws attention to the product porcelain in all its variations. In addition, attention is drawn also to the attractive landscape in which the production facilities lie. 

Rheingauer Rieslingroute

The route runs in a zigzag course of about 70 km from a winegrower to the next. The starting point is Wicker (east of Wiesbaden), which is also known as the "Gateway to the Rheingau". From there it goes on past the castle Biebrich Hochheim after Kiedrich, where the monastery of Eberbach is located. From there it will continue on through the villages of Schloss Johannisberg through the towns of Geisenheim and Rüdesheim over Lorch to the end point of the Rheingau Rieslingroute Lorchhausen. 

Rheinischer Sagenweg

The Rheinischer Sagenweg is enchanting. The new tourist route shows the Rhine cities in NRW from their rather unknown historical side and connects these cities all with the from palaces and castles characterised Rhine-Erft district and the romantic Siebengebirge.

Romantische Straße

Best known among the places of the Romantischen Straße is Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the wine, the bishops and baroque city of Würzburg, Füssen, the Fugger and Silber city of Augsburg and the small fine Dinkelsbuehl. 

Route der Industriekultur

Represents the Ruhr area then and today on 25 thematic routes between Hamm, Hagen, Marl and Moers. Emscherpark cycle trail and the circuit of the Ruhr region lead as the main way to the "Industrial Heritage Trail by bicycle“. 

Sächsische Weinstraße

The Sächsische Weinstraße runs from Dresden to Wackerbarth is about 60 km long and passes through the only wine region in Saxony. 

Schwäbische Albstraße

The Schwäbische Albstraße about 200 km long. It starts in two branches (Trossingen, Tuttlingen) crosses the Swabian Alb from the southwest to northeast and ends in two branches (Aalen, Nördlingen). The signage on the route consists of a silver thistle on a blue background. 

Schwedenstraße

The former Swedish Pomerania region offers information and culture tips to the region between Peenemünde, Wismar and the surrounding areas of Berlin. 

Silberstraße

On the tourist route today we can understand the historical and economic development of this unique landscape. The road links cities of interest, such as Zwickau, Annaberg-Buchholz, and Dresden. 

Südliche Weinstraße

The Südliche Weinstraße is situated in the Palatinate. 85 enjoyable kilometres past Worms, Speyer, Deidesheim and Landau, through quaint villages with inviting wine taverns. Castle ruins, castles and ruins of Roman settlements lie along the route. 

Weinstraße Saale-Unstrut

The Weinstraße Saale-Unstrut is the most northern wine route in Germany and Europe. Visitors can explore on a route of about 60 kilometers the wine region Saale-Unstrut along same named two rivers. The route passes through beautiful valleys with vineyards and orchards. 

Westallgäuer Käsestraße

The enjoyment of cheese specialties along a 150 km route. The route can be conveniently divided into day stages and is therefore suitable for the whole family.

Die Wollroute

The cloth industry has left behind their mark, especially in the region between the Rhine and Maas. With Aachen, Eupen, Euskirchen, Monschau, Verviers and Vaals there are a lot of "balls" of cities in which this historic industrial past can be experienced in its former locations. 

Württemberger Weinstraßen

The wine region of Baden-Wuerttemberg has been merged into one with over 500 long routes under the name of Württemberger Weinstraße. A special feature is formed by the Weinstraße Kraichgau-Stromberg, which was indeed included in the great route, but still holds a special position in that it connects two wine regions of Baden and Wuerttemberg.
